It was established in 1958 to enhance the quality of life for the physically challenged and socially disadvantaged youth by providing them with free residential vocational training in dressmaking, tailoring, shoemaking, beads-making, and computer education to enable them to become independent, self-sufficient and contribute to national development. Currently, there are 40 people from ages 14 to 25 years at the centre and it is located at Kaneshie in Accra.
