In the quiet community of Asutuare, laughter and conversation filled the air as beneficiaries gathered under the shade of a large tree. What began as an ordinary morning soon turned into a day of learning, sharing, and hope, a reflection of Grace Station foundation’s mission to uplift lives through compassion and education.
Led by Enoch Kobby Kings, the foundation’s outreach team, including Pastor David, Mr. Christopher Borkiya, and Mr. Theophilus from Aguila Holdings, spent the day equipping families with practical health knowledge and essential supplies. The program focused on cholera awareness, an issue that continues to threaten many rural communities.
After an uplifting opening prayer, Pastor David encouraged participants to live in love and unity, reminding them that community strength begins with shared care. Enoch Kobby then delivered an engaging and practical talk on the causes, symptoms, and prevention of cholera, demonstrating simple but life-saving practices such as effective handwashing and preparing oral rehydration solution (ORS) at home using everyday materials.
Despite a few challenges including language barriers and a lack of electricity, the session was lively and interactive. Participants eagerly joined the demonstrations, received ORS and aqua tabs, and took part in a short quiz to test their understanding. The team also took time to address concerns about fraudulent financial calls, reassuring everyone that all GSf programs and services are completely free and that no one should make payments to anyone claiming otherwise.
As the session drew to a close, each beneficiary received two bags of maize and clothing items, a gesture symbolizing GSf’s ongoing commitment to improving both health and food security in beneficiary communities.
The day ended as it began, in prayer and gratitude. Smiles and heartfelt thanks filled the space as beneficiaries expressed appreciation for what they had learned and received.
“Health education saves lives, but compassion keeps hope alive,” said Pastor David, a reminder that true healing begins when knowledge meets kindness!
