GraceStation Foundation extended its economic and sustainability training to the prisons in April and the Akuse Prisons in the Eastern Region was its destination. The liquid soap and bleach making training sought to empower inmates who are serving their term to achieve economic independence, the flexibility of career paths and an approved and improved standard of living upon release. Ultimately, we were hopeful that this would provide the inmates with an improved standard of mental health and well-being to become more confident in economic issues. In this way, they will be self-dependent and not be societal burdens when they come out.
