Gracestation Foundation recently hosted a successful two-day educational seminar in Abamkrom, reaching 144 upper primary students, six teachers, and 40 parents. The seminar focused on key topics such as the importance of education, adolescent reproductive health, family planning, and parental involvement in children’s academic journeys.
Led by a health resource personnel and GSf education project coordinator, the seminar aimed to highlight the critical role of education in personal and professional development, enhance students' awareness of their reproductive health, and encourage greater parental engagement in their children's education. The program also adapted to community needs by replacing an initial session on vocational training with a focus on parental involvement, emphasizing strategies for effective communication and support in students’ academic progress.
The event featured interactive sessions that were well-received, fostering community and laying the groundwork for future initiatives. Despite challenges such as language barriers and maintaining consistent parental participation, the seminar concluded with valuable recommendations to improve English proficiency among students and sustain parental involvement through ongoing workshops. Gracestation Foundation remains committed to enhancing educational outcomes and supporting the holistic development of students in Abamkrom.
